This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service Position for an AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC, Position Description Number D1635000 and is a part of the 169 MXS/MXMP, South Carolina Air National Guard.

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO THE FOLLOWING AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC) 1 ONLY:AOC DEFINITIONS:
Area 1: Current permanent employees of the South Carolina Air National Guard. (Note-Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and will not qualify for this AOC)
Area 2: Current members of the South Carolina Air National Guard.
Area 3: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Air National Guard.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Min/Max Military Grades : A1C/E-3, SrA/E-4, SSgt/E-5, TSgt/E-6
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : Experience or training that has provided the ability to perform assembly and disassembly operations and make prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories in accordance with technical specifications, procedures and requirements. Experience using hand and power tools common to the trade.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : Experience or training performing standard, routine assembly and disassembly operations and making prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories. Experience or training performing maintenance overhaul, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft engines, engine components, and power trains for fixed and/or rotary wing aircraft. Experience determining maintenance needed from work orders, inspection reports, historical record, and by own diagnosis.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES:
1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
