This vacancy is for a GS-0801-13, General Engineer located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, C4ISR -PEO C5ICG, in WASHINGTON, District of Columbia.Requirements:
To qualify at the GS- 13 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the federal or private sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular and recurring basis.

Specialized experience may include the following:
- Collaborates in the development of the system architecture, defining and allocating requirements, evaluating design tradeoffs, balancing technical risk between systems, defining, and assessing interfaces, monitoring of verification and validation activities, as well as many other tasks.
- Coordinates feasibility studies, develops designs and projects for equipment, materials and methods of retrofit or installation; develops cost and time estimates for designs and specifications; and develops lifecycle costing information for engineering projects.
- Supports system engineering and integration efforts to optimize system(s) operational effectiveness, system requirements development for architectural adherence, and to support platform certifications.
NOTE: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.
