ORGANIZATIONAL GOALS OR OBJECTIVES: To provide budgetary support to the 434th ARW/FM.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions , Budget Analysis Series 0560 .SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes serving as a budget analyst in the installation's budget office, performing a variety of budget functions involving the formulation, execution, and/or analysis of budgets for substantive programs and support activities and having detailed, intensive knowledge of policies, precedents, goals, objectives, regulations, and other AF, MAJCOM, and installation guides which apply to assigned organizations and programs; sources, types, and methods of funding for assigned organizations and programs; and budgetary and financial relationships between assigned budget(s) and budgets and programs of other agency components and organizations.

EDUCATION: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or
LL.M., if related

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the grade levels specified, and may be computed by first determining the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level .
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES ( KSAs ): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
- Knowledge of commonly used budgetary methods, practices, procedures, regulations, policies, and processes toformulate, justify, and execute the budget for assigned budget accounts.
- Knowledge of missions, functions, goals, objectives, work processes, and sources of funding pertinent to installationprograms/organizations.
- Skill in the application of methods and techniques (e.g., cost-benefit analysis, ZBB, amortization, depreciation, and pro-rating revenues and costs among customers) to analyze and evaluate the effects of changes in program plans and funding.
- Ability to gather, assemble, and analyze data to prepare budget estimates, develop alternatives, and makerecommendations to resolve budget/funding problems.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to justify, defend, present, and/or advise on budgetaryprocesses/actions.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
