You will serve as a UTILITIES SYSTEMS OPERATOR in the PUBLIC WORKS BUSINESS LINE (PWBL) of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.Requirements:
The WG-11 has a Selective Placement factor (Screen-Out). Applicants must possess a Water Treatment (T1) license from the state of California or an equivalent license eligible for reciprocity, Water Distribution (D2) license from the state of California or an equivalent license eligible for reciprocity, Grade 2 Wastewater Treatment Operators license from the state of California or an equivalent license eligible for reciprocity, and a Driver's License. NOTE: You MUST submit copies with your application package, or you will be rated ineligible.Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of a Utilities Systems Operator without more than normal supervision, performing duties such as: 1) Interpreting and applying the requirements contained in technical manuals, shop drawings, and blueprints; 2) Using and operating equipment and tools needed to ensure proper operation of systems; and 3) Applying shop mathematics sufficiently to perform assignments. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of a Utilities Systems Operator without more than normal supervision, performing duties such as: 1) Disassembling, repairing and rebuilding component parts of plant machinery and equipment to ensure proper operation the mechanisms; 2) Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, drawings, oral and written instructions; and 3) Using measuring and test equipment(e.g. micrometers, flowmeter fluid, precision levels) to ensure proper treatment of waste water.
