Description:
The Department of Agriculture's Office of the General Counsel (OGC) provides legal services to all the agencies within the United States Department of Agriculture.The incumbent provides executive staff support through administrative and analytical work in connection with a variety of special projects. The incumbent serves as coordinator and liaison among Immediate Office of the General Counsel with other senior staff including the Associate General Counsels and Regional Attorneys.
Requirements:
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, and specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.Time in Grade : Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade to be considered for the next higher grade (e.g. one year at the GS-11 grade level for consideration for the GS-12 grade level).
GS-12 : One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service or equivalent responsibility in the private sector/pay systems that has equipped you to demonstrate all the following:
- Assisting with administrative processes and procedures related to personnel matters, small expenditures via the purchase card program, and safety and health.
- Reviewing all incoming and outgoing correspondence and routing incoming correspondence to appropriate managers or staff members.
- Preparing letters, reports, briefings, and documents for signature and/or presentation to officials.
- Acts as liason with Congresspersons and members of their staffs, subcabinet level officials, representatives of private industries and other Federal agencies, State and local government officials, leadership of key interest groups and private individuals who desire to communicate with organizational upper management.
