The employee will serve as the Supervisor Logistics Management Specialist - Chief Supply Chain Officer (CSCO) at the VA Central Western Massachusetts Healthcare System in Leeds, MA. The employee will be responsible for the development and integration of a cohesive, forward-looking supply chain that ensures the logistical requirements of the VA Health Care System and supported catchment areas are met.Requirements:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: Applicants must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service. This experience must have equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties as a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist. Specialized experience includes serving as a supply chain management leader/supervisor responsible for ensuring the logistical requirements of an organization are met, and planning/coordinating and evaluating various operations to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of a logistics program. Areas of knowledge and skill should include acquisition management, purchasing, transportation, distribution, inventory management and control, expendable and non-expendable equipment, and warehouse operations, and experience assisting with budget formulation and forecasting of expenditures. At this level, candidates should possess experience in overseeing and managing staff from a variety of occupations and subordinate supervisors.You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position:

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary; however, the position is required to participate on environment of care rounds, internal and external quality reviews and external auditor site visits. These reviews include a review of work areas including warehouse, supply areas that require personal protective equipment such as operating room and lab and equipment disposition areas that involve removal of hazardous waste. This may require long periods of standing, walking and/or maneuvering around moving or otherwise hazardous equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks and cart washers.
