This position is part of the Defense Media Activity. The incumbent serves as a subject matter expert to establish, implement, and assess cyberspace requirements, vulnerabilities, and processes to comply with DoD CIO, DISA, and DoD Cyber Defense Command (DCDC) cybersecurity plans and immediate responses.Requirements:
You may qualify at the GS-13 , if you fulfill the following qualifications:A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
- Developing, improving, and implementing Cybersecurity, and Vulnerability Management program on classified and unclassified networks and systems.
- Providing management and coordination of internal efforts towards timely and efficient support of the local, remote, and contingency sites in all theaters of operation supporting agency activities.
- Providing expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical cybersecurity issues, security concepts, methods, standards, and practices in compliance with cybersecurity policies, procedures, laws, regulations.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 2210 series.
This position has an individual occupational requirement (IOR) which must be met in order to qualify for this position. You must have Information Technology (IT)-related experience which demonstrates proficiency in each of the following four competencies listed below:
