Description:

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Strategic Operations and Regulatory Affairs, Front Office.
As a Management Analyst, GS-0343-13, referred here as a Special Assistant, you will serve as an external customer service/internal operations coordinator to address public concerns, facilitate daily operations, take on special projects, and overseeing budget and contract management functions.

In order to qualify for the GS-13 position , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
- Evaluating organizational processes and procedures to develop management studies, analyses, or recommendations that enhance organizational effectiveness, and
- Coordinating between internal and external stakeholders for public inquiries or routine requests using internal tracking systems to ensure timely, legally compliant responses, and
- Managing operational program budgets, fund allocations, expenditures, or routine financial reporting to support decision-making, and
- Executing acquisition activities such as contract procurements or interagency agreements to ensure compliance with federal procurement and financial regulations.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
