This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce.About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Emergency Services, Fire Department, on Detroit Arsenal, Warren/Macomb MI.
This position is included under the provisions of Special Retirement Coverage (SRC) and may have both a maximum entry age and a mandatory retirement date.

Who May Apply: US CitizensIn order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes which includes 1) Leading the work of firefighter personnel in fire suppression, hazardous material containment and mitigation, fire prevention and protection, and emergency medical services; 2) Implementing risk management fire and emergency service programs, polices, regulations and procedures; 3) Identifying team development needs for personnel; and Assisting with an annual organizational budget and other administrative responsibilities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
Selective Placement Factors: This position requires you to possess and maintain at the time of application the following: DoD, IFSAC or Pro-Board certifications: Fire Officer IV, Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor II, HAZMAT Operations and HAZMAT Incident Command.
This position requires you to possess and maintain Emergency Medical Technician-Basic Certification issued by the State of Michigan or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (NREMT-B).
