Specialized Experience (Credit for Specialized Experience on resume must reflect 40 hours/Full-time per week for each period of work):

GS-15 : You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal Government or other equivalent pay systems. Specialized experience includes:
  • Experience providing expert briefings and strategic advice to Members of Congress, committee staff, and senior government officials on complex legislative and policy matters, including but not limited to banking, financial services, trade, foreign relations, and appropriations, and leveraging these interactions to advance agency objectives.
  • Experience directing, coordinating, and supervising teams with varied roles and areas of expertise, establishing performance expectations, evaluating outcomes, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and legislative priorities.
  • Experience preparing senior officials and executives for high-stakes Congressional engagements, including briefings, testimony, and hearings, by developing clear messaging, anticipating stakeholder questions, and providing guidance on political and policy considerations.
  • Experience developing comprehensive legislative plans, establishing milestones and timetables, drafting and analyzing legislation, and producing official correspondence and policy documentation to advance agency priorities and influence legislative outcomes.
  • Experience engaging intergovernmental and non-governmental stakeholders to negotiate, build consensus, and develop legislative solutions to complex public policy issues, balancing competing interests while ensuring agency objectives are achieved.
