Custodial Worker Leader

Description:

This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Lodging on Niagara Falls ARS, NY.

The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of cleaning tasks associated with lodging operations.

This is a Regular Part-Time position guaranteed 20 hrs./wk. May work up to 40 hrs/wk., scheduled as needed. Position requires working irregular schedules, to include weekends, holidays, and all shifts.

Employees appointed to a Regular category position are eligible for benefits.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:

• Ability to lead three (3) or more custodial workers to accomplish housekeeping assignments.
• Must have functional experience and demonstrated knowledge of facility/equipment in housekeeping section and the ability to build teams and work with others.
• Must have experience in the proper use of cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
• Must be able to clean and make adjustments to powered cleaning equipment.
• Must be able to perform the full range of cleaning duties.
• Must be able to plan, coordinate, and time sequence steps needed to meet time constraints of work assignments.
• Experience and knowledge must have been gained either in a military lodging program or commercial hotel/motel.
• Must be able to follow oral or written instructions and speak English.
