Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. GS-9 Specialized Experience : One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 grade level in the Federal service which includes inspecting standardized construction methods, materials and practices; determining acceptability of materials and workmanship to ensure it conforms to established standards and practices; and explaining standard requirements of plans and specifications to contractors or customers.
GS-10 Specialized Experience : One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes performing Quality Assurance and surveillance of assigned construction projects normally involving more than one project at a time with moderate complexity. Review, advise, make recommendations, and evaluate contractors.
GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-10 grade level in the Federal service which includes scheduling and providing Quality Assurance coverage of multiple simultaneous construction projects ranging from basic to highly complex. Extensive knowledge in engineering and surveying methods and techniques. Review, advise, make recommendations, and evaluate contractors.
