This vacancy is for a GS-0301-12, PROGRAM SPECIALIST located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, NAVIGATION TECHNOLOGY AND RISK MGMT DIVISION -CG-NAV-3 in WASHINGTON, District of Columbia.Requirements:
To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade level in the federal sector. Specialized GS-11 experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular and recurring basis.
- Conducting analyses, studies and surveys covering evolving technologies, improving delivery of maritime programs and operations;
- Using qualitative/quantitative methods for assessment and improvement of program effectiveness;
- Collecting and managing complex data or databases to ensure their accuracy and integrity in support of Directorate/Office objectives and overall performance;
- Drawing conclusions, making predictions, and informing decision makers of involving the Marine Transportation System (MTS), including waterways management and aids to navigation systems; and
- Thorough understanding of the principles and field practices related to electronic navigation systems, charting, and the dissemination of Marine Safety Information (MSI) by various means.
