This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration, in the Safety West (NFW) organizations in the Safety Office (NF), Chief Administrative Office (N).

A successful candidate in the Safety and Occupational Health Manager position will serve as a senior Safety Manager providing consultative services and technical assistance to District Managers and Project management teams engaged in construction and field safety activities.

Requirements:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

A qualified candidate's resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, GS-12, in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) identifying and evaluating occupational hazards in utility worksites, including recommending control measures for environments characterized by unsafe work processes, high potential for mishaps, and difficult abatements; and 2) advising senior management of appropriate measures and alternative courses of action to achieve mission goals with a minimum risk of injury to personnel and damage to property; and 3) developing safety and occupational health criteria, standards, and techniques used in the prevention and control of accidents associated with a system.

"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Time-in-Grade : Current Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement to receive consideration.

CTAP candidates : To be considered "well qualified" you must meet all of the requirements as described in this section. To receive selection priority for this position, you must: 1) meet the eligibility criteria; and 2) be rated "well-qualified", which is defined as having a score of 85 or better.
