Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. To be considered for the GS-11, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-09 or higher in the Federal service. To be considered for the GS-12, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher in the Federal service.Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-09 if applying at the GS-11 level or GS-11 if applying at the GS-12 level) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
GS-11 Specialized Experience is defined as: supporting financial analysis and review of automated systems, policies, and procedures; and helping provide information and assistance to customers.
GS-12 Specialized Experience is defined as: performing extensive financial management analysis and evaluation of automated financial systems, governing policies, business procedures, and regulations to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of operations; and providing professional advice, assistance, and information to customers and less senior staff.
