About the Position:
This position is assigned to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Community and Family Policy (DASD (MC&FP), Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manpower and Reserve Affairs (M&RA), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Personnel and Readiness (USD (P&R)).

This position may be eligible for situational telework as determined by the agency policy.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes overseeing technical budget operations for dynamic programs and requirements, advising senior executives on resourcing implications for the policies and services that address the needs of service members and their families, demonstrating the ability to agilely resource emerging critical needs within the military community, collaborating with key stakeholders regarding budgetary and contractual operations impacting service members and families, reviewing programs for potential efficiencies, and conducting program analysis and planning strategies to support implementing and administering policy related to military member and family support. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
