What are we looking for?
- Must possess general knowledge of traffic safety practices and pedestrian control procedures.
- Familiarity with standard safety equipment such as signage and hand signals is preferred.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and safety protocols related to pedestrian and traffic control on a military installation.
- Ability to remain alert and attentive for extended periods of time with high levels of vehicular and pedestrian activity.
- Must be able to recognize and appropriately respond to unexpected or emergency situations involving individuals or vehicles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a wide range of individuals, such as children, parents, and uniformed personnel.
- Must demonstrate good judgement to act calmly under pressure or in fast-changing conditions (i.e., adverse weather conditions, sudden traffic surges, or emergencies).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain post throughout shift.
