This position is part of the Official Journals of Government, Government Publishing Office in Washington, District of Columbia.

Requirements:

To qualify for the Lead Printing Services Specialist, PG-1654-13, you must meet the following requirements:

Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR):

A) Education: Undergraduate and Graduate Education:
Major study -- journalism, business administration, English composition, commerce, accounting, printing or printing engineering, graphic or commercial art, industrial engineering, or economics.

OR

B) Experience:
Specialized Experience: Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: 1) Determining specifications for the printing of manuscript, i.e., selection of typography, layout, composition, format, paper stock, and other printer's instructions; 2) Negotiating or administering contracts for procurement of manuscript and illustrations, printing, binding and allied services, or printing stocks (paper, inks, etc.); 3) Managing a printing plant that produces printing either for the government or private industry customers; 4) Performing production control work in a large printing plant; 5) Serving as a sales representative for a wide variety of printing equipment; 6) Analyzing the price and cost of preparation and production of printing; 7) Planning, estimating, and scheduling printing on a full-time basis for a variety of publications; 8) Performing substantive administrative support or policy functions directly related to publishing and printing program management or operations.

AND

In addition to the above Individual Occupational Requirement, applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the PG-12 (or equivalent) level or higher which includes:

(1) Managing print and digital schedules and serving as liaison to ensure timely delivery;
(2) Overseeing secure printing projects and advising on specifications and digital workflows; and
(3) Leading teams, assigning tasks, and improving printing processes.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
