Description:

The position in the Applicant Services Section, Next Generation Unit is ideal for the candidate who has experience working in the Individuals and Households Delivery Branch and Individual Assistance Disaster Recovery Programs performing caller services and casework, as well as supporting disaster recovery efforts while deployed to disaster operations to perform damage assessments.

To qualify for this Emergency Management Specialist (Next Generation) Bilingual position at the IC-09 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-07 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:

  1. Performing caller services in a contact center and/or field operations. (e.g., Registration intake, helpline, basic case analysis, etc.)
  2. Utilizing emergency management recovery processes and/or damage assessment guidelines to deliver disaster assistance.
  3. Providing guidance and/or advice on recovery issues.

OR Education

Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

OR Combination of education and experience.

To qualify for this Emergency Management Specialist (Next Generation) Bilingual position at the IC-11 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-09 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:

  1. Providing outreach to various external audiences on emergency management programs.
  2. Evaluating emergency management operations and developing plans, policies, and/or procedures.
  3. Developing presentations and reports for leadership and recommending solutions.

OR Education

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or

LL.M., if related

OR Combination of education and experience.
