The Outdoor Recreation Planner serves as a key member of multidisciplinary planning team at Chesapeake Gateways, contributing to the development, evaluation, and coordination of park planning projects and recreation initiatives. This position involves conducting research, analyzing data, and preparing planning documents that support the protection and enhancement of natural, cultural, and recreational resources.Requirements:

To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: 1) Ability to deal with people of differing backgrounds and behavioral patterns. 2) Analysis and evaluation of outdoor recreation interests, habits, and needs of diversified groups, and the means for meeting those needs. 3) Evaluation of land or water areas for their recreation and related potential use, such as wildlife reserve. 4) Preparation or review of plans and programs for natural resource utilization and recreation area development. 5) Solution of administrative, intergovernmental, socioeconomic, and other problems involved providing adequate recreation opportunities while preserving, restoring, and enhancing the quality of the outdoor environment. You must include hours per week worked.

EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least 1 full year of graduate level education or I have a Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement. You must include transcripts.

Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. For example, 6 months of the specialized experience described in above (50% of the experience requirement), and one-half year (9 semester hours or 14 quarter hours) of directly related graduate level college study in an accredited institution (50% of the qualifying education). You must include transcripts.

Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. For example: 6 months of specialized experience as described above (50% of experience requirement), and 1.5 years (27 semester hours) of graduate level college study in a directly related field of study as described above (50% of the education requirement). The percentages must total at least 100. You must include transcripts.
