Description:
This position is the Children and Youth Program Specialist, for Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC), and Family Readiness Programs. The purpose of the Children and Youth Program Specialist is to assist the Program Manager to initiate, plan, coordinate, and administer Child and Youth Programs (CYP) throughout the Navy.Requirements:

A qualified candidate possesses the following:
Three years or more of specialized experience working with children and/or youth in DoD Child and Youth Programs plus appropriate education.
OR
A combination of education and experience and three years or more specialized experience working with children and/or youth in DOD Child and Youth Programs.
AND
Knowledge of management information systems and databases to access and analyze information to ensure Quality Assurance.
Knowledge of the principles of child development and youth development in designing and managing an exceptionally complex program that includes, but is not limited to safety, security, disease prevention, employee training, developmentally appropriate activities, parent involvement, and facility management.
Knowledge of DoD, DoN, local and state regulations, instructions and procedures pertaining to military child care.
Knowledge of Federal and State Laws governing the detection and prevention of child abuse and/or neglect.
Skill to coordinate and interact with numerous activities, and various echelons both within and outside the Navy.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, and possess strong interpersonal communication skill.
Ability to maintain records and reports.
Ability to analyze program and statistical information to recommend solutions or appropriate action to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
