To qualify fora Supply Technician, your qualifications must include:A. Specialized Experience~ To qualify at the GS-06Ievel, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level. Specialized experience is experience that equipp~d the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform succbssfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position t~ be filled. Examples of specialized experience are identified in the Major Duties secti01 of this vacancy announcement and may also include:
- Conducting physical inventories and location surveys
- Investigating stock/record/material discrepancies impacting inventory balances
- Preparing reports concerning results of investigations performed
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Physical Demands: In the performance of investigations, inventory and location surveys, the incumbent is required to research, survey and/or count all types of material, some which are heavy and bulky, stored on pallets, and some which are stored in high-level locations. Work may require operating MHE and handling, pushing and lifting items weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally up to 70 pounds. Depending on the availability of equipment and depot location, it may occasionally operate a bicycle, sedan, or pick-up truck to move between work sites.
