This position serves as an expert in pharmaceutical science and as the Service Chief for Clinical Pharmacy & Investigational Drug Research Section (CPIDRS) in the Pharmacy Department with responsibility for the leadership, management, and staff supervision of the Clinical Pharmacy & Investigational Drug Research Section that provides the clinical pharmacy services, investigational drug management and research services, and as an expert in pharmaceutical science.Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:Education:
A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (external link) (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (external link) at the time the degree was obtained.
OR
Applicants who have a bachelor's degree in pharmacy may also qualify contingent upon an additional review of your qualifications.
Licensure:
Applicants must be licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Specialized Experience:
In order to meet the minimum qualifications for each position described above you must have at least one year of professional pharmacy experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal Government obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following: providing leadership and guidance to protocol team members, staff, and pharmaceutical manufacturers on the development of the investigational agent and clinical protocols; providing expert pharmaceutical advice to site pharmacist involving investigational agent properties, handling and storage, preclinical and toxicity data and problems with supply, including expert advice on a wide range of investigational agents, including drugs, vaccines, microbicides, cell therapy products and other IV/injectables; developing skills that integrate program goals and objectives; designing short and long term range strategic plans for the workforce development, and staff professional development, to assure the availability of a highly specialized and high performing pharmaceutical staff and support staff; and planning work to be accomplished by subordinates, training, and mentoring to other Pharmacists, medical monitors, and other staff on pharmacy issues, product issues and procedures for regulatory compliance.
