Description:
You will serve as a Supervisory Physical Science Technician in the Radiological Monitoring Division; Special Projects Branch of the Radiological Control Office located at NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.Requirements:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:- Experience leveraging Article 106.2D qualification to direct and oversee critical overhaul and refueling operations for Naval Nuclear Propulsion Systems.
- Experience demonstrating mastery of all radiological control regulations, including NAVSEA 389 0288, OSHA, SECNAV, OPNAV and DoD standards, with a proven track record of safeguarding personnel, preventing contamination, and ensuring public safety in nuclear environments.
- Experience demonstrating two (2) years of experience supervising a complex radiological monitoring program, including managing staff across multiple shifts and locations, and overseeing all administrative and logistical aspects.
- Experience demonstrating expertise in program and administrative management, including resource planning, equipment evaluation, procedure development, and compliance reporting.
- Experience providing expert-level problem resolution for escalated issues while serving as the strategic communication bridge between the team and division leadership.
- Experience managing the full lifecycle of technical documentation, represents the division in critical forums, and orchestrates complex, cross-functional workflows with key partners, including Production Planning, ship's force, and Nuclear Engineering.
