This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.About the Position: Serves as a Lead Security Guard for DES, Access Control Branch located at Ft Leavenworth, KS.

Applications will be accepted from non-preference eligibles; however, these applications will not be considered if preference eligible applicants are available. Note: An agency may fill a restricted position with a non-preference eligible by position change (promotion, demotion, or reassignment) from among current permanent Department of the Army employees.
Specialized Experience required: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) controlling access of vehicles, visitors, and pedestrians into a facility such as a military installation; 2) using automated systems to query and/or verify suitability for visitor entry into a facility such as a military installation; and 3) safeguarding personnel, information, and/or property/critical assets in a federal, state, municipal, local, or private protective organization.. Such experience must have provided a knowledge of protective systems and techniques. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
