This position is located in the Office of Patent Automation (OPA) and serves as a Patent Business Analyst integrating patent examining expertise into the development of automated systems utilized by the Patents stakeholders for filing patent applications and patent examination and other patent processes.Requirements:

To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS-13.
Specialized experience includes:
- Applying patent examination expertise to develop business requirements and user guidance for automated systems;
- Collaborating with external stakeholders, examiners, and patent staff to improve tools used from filing through final disposition;
- Translating examination processes into practical, user-centered solutions that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across end-to-end prosecution.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
