Mechanical Technician

Description:

This vacancy is for a GS-0802-9, Mechanical Technician located in the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Hull Branch, Coast Guard YARD Engineering Division, Baltimore, MD.

Requirements:

You MUST meet the following requirements

To qualify at the GS- 9 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-8 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular and recurring basis.

• Experience with CAD software.
• Experience maintaining engineering technical files.
• Experience in preparing technical reports, project status reports.
• Experience working with USCG drawing database Surface Technical Information Portal (STIP).
• Experience working on various shipboard systems and structure onboard Coast Guard cutter classes.
• Experience with CG YARD TCI activities and projects.

This position has a promotion potential to grade 11.
