COMMAND STAFF SPECIALIST

Description:

This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command. The incumbent will be responsible for perform executive-level services to directly support the Commander, U. S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM); provide demanding, high-visibility, and assistance to USTRANSCOM senior leadership in developing and communicating Command guidance for transportation and logistics issues; and ensure recurring Command-sponsored events are successfully executed

Requirements:

You may qualify at the GS-12 you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service:

1. Serving within a Commander's Action Group or similar senior executive leader support organization that plans and executes Commander-sponsored initiatives, programs, conferences, distinguished visitor events, and senior leader engagements.
2. Providing executive-level briefings to distinguished visitors and select military and civilian groups.
3. Coordinating with relevant internal and external organizations on Command-specific tasks, timelines, travel and billeting requirements to ensure the professionalism of events.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
