THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for an Supervisory Quality Assurance Specialist , Position Description Number D1819000 and is part of the 158th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron Command of the Vermont Air National Guard.
*This position is also advertised to Active Guard Reserve Airmen under announcement number MVA- AF 25-47.

OPEN AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: AREA 1, 2Area I: All current On-board Permanent and Indefinite Dual Status 32 and Title 5 (Competitive and Excepted) Technicians (Tenure: 1-Career, 2-Conditional, 3-Indefinite) - Only those Vermont National Guard members who are in permanent or indefinite technician status as a result of being competitively hired within that National Guard component applying for a position within the component which they are currently employed.
Area II: All Members of the Vermont Air National Guard.
Military Grade/Rank: SMSgt/E8 or CMSgt/E9
GENERAL EXPERIENCE Experience in fields such as quality control, quality inspection, contracting and purchasing, supply and storage, industrial or production planning, research and engineering, maintenance, and test and evaluation that provided (1) familiarity with quality assurance or related work, (2) pertinent product or process knowledge and skill, (3) ability to interpret and apply contract requirements and engineering specifications, and (4) skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships. For positions for which individual occupational requirements do not specify otherwise, general experience is 3 years of progressively responsible experience that demonstrates the ability to:
- Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions;
- Plan and organize work; and
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics:
Ability to review production activities and capabilities in light of contract quality requirements.
Ability to review written quality or inspection procedures for adequacy, and evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of quality/inspection systems, including sampling plans.
Skill in analyzing quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in the quality/inspection system.
Knowledge of verifying by test or inspection, using sampling inspection or intensive product inspection techniques, that products comply with requirements prior to acceptance.
Skill identifying inadequacies and requesting corrective action.
Skill in computing data, summarizing results, and preparing reports or charts depicting pertinent relationships using statistical methods.
Ability to investigate customer complaints and deficiency reports, and providing identification of causes to appropriate authorities.
Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical data such as blueprints, engineering drawings, product specifications, or technical manuals.
Knowledge of supply systems operations and procedures through periodic audits and surveillance inspections.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
OTHER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES :
-This position is subject to the Lautenberg amendment to the gun control act of 1968 which makes it a felony for anyone who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence to ship, transport, possess, or receive firearms or ammunition. Civilian personnel of the Department of the Defense are not exempt from this provision. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
