Description:
This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number D1291000 and is part of the NJ CSMS 1, National Guard.
The purpose of this position is to supervise workers directly or through subordinate leaders and/or supervisors in accomplishing work of the function. The occupation and non-supervisory grade level which best reflects the nature of the overall work operations supervised is Surface Maintenance Mechanic, WG-5801-11.
Requirements:
GENERAL EXPERIENCE :Must have the following experience(s):

Organizing assignments for subordinates
-
Estimating material and manpower needs for specific jobs

Explain manuals and work procedures to subordinates

Preparing production records, work records and reports
Must have 36 months of the following specialized experience:
-
Diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and modifying more complex vehicles, equipment, and more complicated systems

Using diagnostic equipment

Solving unusually complex maintenance and repair problem
-
Testing, inspecting, and evaluating the work performed on vehicles, equipment and systems
In addition to the experience above, you must also have the following experiences: -
Planning, directing, and organizing work assignments for lower grade personnel

Reviewing work requirements and establishing priorities to meet deadlines

Supervising and/or communicating general supervisory concepts, and shop processes
-
Adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations
