Requirements:
BASIC QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: Master's Degree: in Social Work. ( Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.)SPECIALIZED EXPERIMENT: Must have 24 months of experience in clinical social work assignments. Completion of the Air Force Social Work Internship Program may be substituted for 12 months of the specialized experience requirement. This experience demonstrates particular competencies of knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Knowledge of social work theories, principles, techniques, and resources. Must have specialized experience in professional social work that includes interviewing people to establish the nature and extent of their problems, helping them work-out plans for improving the situation, providing assistance and services, referring them to community resources and other organizations as indicated, and assisting them to understand and modify their own patterns of behavior when appropriate. Except as stated above, no other substitution of education for specialized experience is allowed. A minimum of two (2) years within the past five (5) years in the independent practice of clinical social work is highly desired.
License Requirement : Unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S Virgin Islands. ( Supporting documentation MUST BE submitted with application)

If you received a promotion, reassignment, or grade reduction through a USAJobs announcement within the last 18 months, you will need an ETP memo.

The memorandum will be written by you, the employee, and signed by your supervisory chain up to the Director level. Directors and Supervisors will submit the signed memorandum for final review to the HRO Staffing inbox: ng.in.inarng.mbx.hro-staffing-section@army.mil
The Human Resources Officer (HRO) is the final approval for all ETP waivers. If approved, the memorandum will be returned to you and then submitted with your application.
